The Bangladesh Education Board has proposed to resume the postponed HSC and equivalent exams on September 11. This proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Education. The final date for the exams will be confirmed based on the ministry’s instructions.
On Tuesday night, August 13, the President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, Tapan Kumar Sarkar, confirmed this to the media.
He stated that a proposal to start the postponed HSC Exam 2024 from September 11 has been sent to the Ministry of Education. The exact date for the postponed exams will be announced once the ministry gives its directives.
The Ministry of Education is currently under the leadership of Interim Government’s Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, and the final decision on the proposal will be made under his guidance.
Previously, on Monday (August 12) the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee issued a notification stating that the postponed HSC and equivalent exams would be held with full marks. The committee also mentioned that the revised exam schedule would be released soon.
The committee had also informed that preparations were underway to conduct the postponed exams for HSC and equivalent students of 2024. These exams will be held according to the syllabus and marks distribution published by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
The new HSC Routine will be announced on the Dhaka Education Board’s website and through various electronic and print media.
Note that, the HSC and equivalent exams were postponed multiple times due to safety concerns amid the quota reform movement. The education boards had to suspend eight days of exams over three phases. The exams were initially scheduled to resume on August 11, but they were further postponed due to the burning of question papers.
