After completing the Pakistan tour, the Bangladesh cricket team has returned home. Four days ago, the players came back, but they haven’t had much time to rest. They have already started preparing for the upcoming series against India. Although the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has yet to announce the team for this series, it is reported that there won’t be many changes to the squad.
One of BCB’s selectors mentioned to the media that the squad for the Test series against India is almost finalized. Since the team performed excellently in the last series, there won’t be significant changes to the squad for this series. If everything goes well, the board is expected to officially announce the team by Wednesday.
In the Pakistan series, opener Sadman Islam played a crucial knock of 93 runs in the first innings of the first Test. He also tried to adapt to the situation in the second Test, so it’s expected that he will be retained in the squad.
Although his partner, Zakir Hasan, couldn’t perform well in the first Test, he contributed to the team’s victory with his aggressive batting in the second innings of the second Test. Therefore, he is also likely to be in the squad. Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who has recovered from his injury, will be included as a backup opener.
