HSC Exam 2024 under Higher Secondary Education Board Bangladesh was scheduled to resume today, Sunday (August 11). To conduct the exam, the Education Ministry published a new routine for all education boards. However, the exam is not resuming today, even after one or two weeks.
As per the report, HSC Exam is expected to resume after a delay of at least one month. Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, confirmed the information to the media.
This delay is necessary due to the destruction and potential leakage of exam papers that were being held in police custody. As a result, the education boards will need to create new question papers, a process that will require significant time.
He stated, “Several exam papers stored at different police stations were burned, and in some cases, the papers were not properly secured. It’s unclear whether any of these papers reached the students. Given this situation, we have no choice but to create new question papers and organize the exams accordingly. This process will take at least a month.”
Professor Sarkar also mentioned that discussions with the Ministry of Education would begin soon to expedite the creation of the new question papers.
The HSC and equivalent exams were originally suspended multiple times due to the violent protests surrounding the quota reform movement. The exams were postponed three times, affecting a total of eight exam days. The boards had initially planned to resume the exams on August 11 under a revised schedule. However, the discovery of burned and potentially leaked papers forced further delays.
This year’s HSC and equivalent exams began on June 30, with a total of 1,450,790 students registered under nine general education boards, the Technical Board, and the Madrasa Board.
