Harun Hotel displayed hate speech on LED Screen about Goddess Durga

Harun Hotel and Restaurant, located in Basabo Buddha Mandir, 32 Atish Deepankar Rd, Dhaka 1214, displayed hate speech during this year’s Durga Puja. The LED Display shows a bad word after the “Durga” Text.

As per the report, the incident took place yesterday, Friday (October 11). Those people who visited the Harun Hotel, they seen this bad word.

Once the video footage was shared on social media, the Hindu Community started protesting against this incident. Many devotees of Goddess Durga started protesting in front of the Harun Hotel and Restaurant. As a result, the incident took a storm on social media, especially Facebook.

“We are still sleeping. What are the chances of us waking up?! The advisor said that all the coordinators were just saying that a group of people were trying to create a riot by hurting religious sentiments. I hope everyone has the ability to understand what is meant by a group,” a user wrote in the comment section of the video.

Niloy Sutra Dhar wrote “Now will it be improper to give the death penalty to the owner? In other cases, the people give the death penalty without verification. (I am against the death penalty in such cases but in the present context.)”.

Meanwhile, a Facebook user named Abdul Kayoum said that anyone can get access to the LED Screen if they want. Then, they can write anything. “Because most of them have security codes from 1-8”, he added.
