Professor Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Dr. Badruzzaman is a respected professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at BUET.
The appointment of BUET’s New VC was officially announced on Thursday, September 12, through a notification from the Ministry of Education. Deputy Secretary Mosharraf Begum signed the notifications.
On the same day, BUET also appointed a new Pro-Vice-Chancellor. Professor Dr. Abdul Hasib Chowdhury from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department has taken on this role. The appointments were announced on Thursday, September 12, through separate notifications issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.

According to the notification appointing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman has been appointed following the approval of the President and Chancellor, as per the Bangladesh University of Engineering Ordinance, 1961, Sections 11(1) and (2).
His appointment will take effect from the date of his joining and will last for four years. The President reserves the right to cancel the appointment at any time if deemed necessary.
