Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as the Ministry of Labor and Employment, has clarified that he has no current political affiliations. In a post on his verified Facebook account on Saturday, September 28, he shared this statement to dispel any misconceptions.
In the post, Asif explained, “It has become necessary to make something clear—currently, I have no political affiliation.” He also mentioned that, during his university years, he was initially involved in a political initiative known as the ‘Chhatra Adhikar Parishad.’
However, due to issues like party subservience, he and other committee members of the Dhaka University branch resigned from their positions midway through last year.
Asif Mahmud further stated, “Although I didn’t want to bring these matters to light, it has become necessary due to growing confusion in several places.” His focus now, he said, is on maintaining national unity while prioritizing reform and restructuring efforts.
