The Public Service Commission (PSC) is planning to conduct the 46th BCS written exam in October, which was previously postponed due to the anti-discrimination student movement. However, officials have indicated that if the situation does not improve, it may not be possible to hold the exam even in October.
A reliable source from the PSC has stated that multiple discussions have been held regarding both the 44th BCS oral exam and the 46th BCS written exam. But due to various protests by candidates and the lack of approval from the government, it has not been possible to set exam dates. Without the approval from Govt, the PSC cannot finalize the interview boards or prepare the exam questions.
A senior PSC official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told media that since August 5, non-cadre candidates, doctors, and health cadre aspirants have been protesting. As a result, the PSC chairman and members have been unable to work regularly, and it has not been possible to prepare or moderate the exam questions.
The official also noted that if the government issues instructions, the 44th BCS oral exam could begin within 15 working days. Similarly, the 46th BCS written exam could be held in October. However, the lack of government approval has caused delays, forcing candidates to wait even longer.
