Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the 44th BCS Viva Exam Date for those candidates who passed the written exam. The Viva exam which was postponed previously, will take place on September 1. This exam will continue till September 11, 2024, said on a notice.
On Wednesday (August 14) the Public Service Commission (PSC) released a revised schedule for these Viva Exam exams, according to which, the exams will be held at the PSC’s headquarters.
The PSC’s announcement mentioned that the previously issued schedule for the 44th BCS Viva Exam for General Cadre candidates had been partially revised. Following this revision, the viva voce exams will now commence on September 1 and run through September 19. About 120 candidates are being called in for the Viva exams each day.

The viva exams for the 44th BCS had initially been suspended by the PSC on July 18 due to the situation arising from the quota reform movement. On July 29, the PSC again announced the suspension of the exams, extending the suspension until August 5, with the promise of a new schedule to be announced later.
It has been reported that a total of 350,716 candidates applied for the 44th BCS. The preliminary exam was held on May 27 of the previous year, with results released within 25 days. In the preliminary exam, 15,708 candidates passed and proceeded to the written exam, where 11,732 candidates were successful. These candidates are now eligible to participate in the viva exams.
Note that, the 44th BCS will recruit 1,710 officers across various cadres. This includes 250 positions in the Administration Cadre, 50 in Police, 10 in Foreign Affairs, 14 in Ansar, 30 in Audit and Accounts, 11 in Taxation, 8 in Cooperatives, 7 in Railway Transportation and Commerce, 10 in Information, 23 in Postal Services, 6 in Commerce, 27 in Family Planning, 3 in Food, 485 in Technical Cadres, and 776 in Education Cadres.
