Staff Reporter Comilla: 7 students of a High School in Muradnagar Upazila of Comilla District school fell ill due to a severe heat wave. The incident took place on Monday (April 29) afternoon at Tymos Begum High School. The headmaster of the Tymos School confirmed information about the illness of the students.
According to the school sources, the classes started at 10 AM in Taymos Begum High School of the Upazila during the heatwave as the school and colleges reopened on April 27, 2024, after 7 days off. However, the number of attending students is lower than usual
As per the report, many students began panting in the heat. After some time, Samia Akhter, a student of class six, and Fahima Akhtar of class Seven fell ill. At the same time, Samia Saima (Class 8) and Maria Akter (Class 9) fell unconscious.
On the other hand, class eight students Urmi Akhtar, Hepi Akhtar, and one other fell ill during the third hour. Later the message about the illness was sent to their parents and sent home.
Meanwhile, the highest temperature has been recorded today in Chuadanga District at 43°C. This is the highest temperature in the country during this heatwave.
