HSC Result 2024 on October 17, Date confirmed

The HSC Result 2024 is expected to be published between October 15-17. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has proposed releasing the results of the HSC and equivalent exams on October 15, 16, or 17. However, the Ministry of Education has yet to confirm the final date. Sources suggest the date may be finalized within this week.

This information was confirmed by Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Chairman of the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Education and the president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee. Speaking to the media on Monday morning (October 7), he mentioned that a proposal to announce the results between October 15 and 17 has been sent to the Ministry of Education. However, the final date is still pending, and he hopes it will be confirmed later this week.

Due to the socio-political unrest surrounding the quota reform movement in government jobs and the ‘One Point Movement’, not all HSC exams could be completed this year. Out of 13 subjects, only seven exams were conducted. Responding to students’ demands, the government canceled the remaining exams and released the results using a subject mapping system.

This year’s HSC exams started on June 30, and exams were successfully conducted until July 16. However, due to the ongoing political turmoil, the exams scheduled for July 18, 21, 23, and 25 were postponed. Amid widespread student protests, the government led by Sheikh Hasina was overthrown on August 5.

Following the government’s fall, the dates for the remaining exams were repeatedly changed. The last date was set for August 11, but students began protesting, demanding the cancellation of the postponed exams. Despite a decision to hold the remaining exams from September 11, students locked up senior Ministry of Education officials in protest, forcing the education administration to cancel the exams.

The Ministry of Education has stated that for subjects in which HSC and equivalent exams were conducted, the results will be prepared based on the full marks. For subjects where exams were not held, a subject mapping method will be used. A total of 1,450,790 students participated in this year’s HSC and equivalent exams.
